Internet users experienced difficulties due to a fault in the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited’s (PTCL) submarine cable SMW4, sources reported.

However, PTCL officials clarified that there was no cut in the submarine cable, but a fault was detected and promptly rectified.

According to PTCL officials, services have now been fully restored, ensuring users benefit from uninterrupted internet supply. A spokesperson from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) added that while a malfunction had occurred in the PTCL submarine cable, it was swiftly fixed.

The spokesperson also noted that users did not experience any major issues with internet service during this period. It is worth mentioning that just a few days ago, internet services in Pakistan were disrupted due to another fault in the global submarine cable SMW4.
